Delegation of Copperbelt University (Zambia) visited MPEI

On the 7th of June, 2017 a delegation from Copperbelt University (Zambia) visited MPEI. The delegation included:

Ngoma Naison - Vice Chancellor of Copperbelt University, professor;

Sivale Lennox - Dean of faculty of engineering;

Chisala Pretsious – the assistant to Dean;

Muvina Mutumva Lilian - research associate.

The purpose of this visit was a tour of MPEI and discussion of issues concerning the cooperation between the Universities. The delegation was accompanied by the representative of Peoples' Friendship University of Russia – Masamba Kakh. At the meeting from MPEI part there were: MPEI Rector Nikolay Rogalev, Head of International Administration Sergey Shirinsky, Head of Dept. of International Relations Alexander Tarasov, Director of International program Center Igor Zhelbakov, employee of Dept. of International Cooperation Marishkina Iulia.

There were arranged the tours to department of materials technology where the delegation was welcomed by MPEI Vice Rector on research activity Victor Dragunov, and Dept. of Hydro Power Engineering and Renewable Energy Sources, Dept. of Relay Protection and Automation of Energy Systems. Scientific achievements and the newest developments of these Departments were shown to representatives of Copperbelt University.

In frames of the visit MPEI presentation was shown to the colleagues where MPEI Rector Nikolay Rogalev made his welcome speech. Signing of the contract on cooperation between Universities became the main result of the meeting.

Vice Chancellor of Copperbelt University expressed his gratitude for cordial welcome at MPEI. Referring to traditionally favorable relations between Russia and Zambia, Vice Chancellor expressed his readiness for further interaction in the sphere of educational and scientific interests of universities.
