MPEI took part in University Alliance of the Silk Road

Head of International Administration of MPEI, professor Sergey Shirinskii joined the session of the Executive Board of the University Alliance of the New Silk Road and the “World-Class University Expo”.

From the 11th to the 13th of May in China a number of annual events of the University Alliance of the New Silk Road were held. It deserves to be admitted that MPEI is a member of the Alliance along with other 134 mondial Universities. Moreover from the very foundation of the Alliance it has been one of 18 universities that all together constitute as the Executive Board of the University Alliance.

In frames of the annual meetings a President’s forum has been organized for the Universities-members of the Alliance. On it the questions have been raised about the collaboration under the initiative “One belt – one way”, search and nourishing of the talents in the domains of innovation and commerce, and moreover the mission of modern Universities. On the session of the Executive Board of the University Alliance the reports were made about the system of alerting and averting the natural disasters (Hong-Kong Polytechnical University), about the measures for protecting the patrimony (Liverpool University), global program for maintaining people’s health, creation of a practice base for students of University Alliance (Xi'an Jiaotong University). Besides, on the session of Executive Board a decision to admit 15 new Universities from New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Canada, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, France, Egypt, Taiwan and China has been taken.

On the 14th of May on the basys of Xi'an Jiaotong University 2018 World-Class Universities Exposition took place. Among more than 70 different universities, 5 Russian universities participated in it. Chinese students and applicants were interested in studying at MPEI and the opportunities to get involved in the short-term exchange programs and summer schools.
