Academic colloquium consecrated to the visit to Moscow of Honorary Doctor of MPEIRodney John Allam

On the 7th of June 2018 MPEI organized the academic colloquium consecrated to the visit of Honorary Doctor of MPEI Rodney John Allam.

Among Russian and foreign participants of the event were:

• The Nobel Peace Prize laureate and a winner of the award "Global Energy", Honorary Doctor of MPEI Rodney John Allam
• Acting President of the Global Energy Association Alexander Ignatov
• The Global Energy Association representatives

The colloquium guests have been received by Rector of MPEI Nikolay Rogalev, Vice-rector on International Relations Vladimir Zamolodchikov, Vice-Rector on Research Activity Viktor Dragunov, Head of the Department of development of cooperation with strategic partners Vasily Kuznetsov, Head of the development program Sergey Belousov, heads of departments, professors and MPEI staff.

Rodney John Allam is a leading creator of the special report of capture CO2 for the Intergovernmental group of experts for climate changing. For the participation in it he has been given a Nobel Prize in 2007. In 2012 Mr. Allam received the Global Energy Prize for outstanding merits in the field of Power Engineering, i.e. for development of new processes and equipment for producing gas and cryogenic liquids, and for the application of ecologically clean methods of Energy production.

Rodney John Allam possesses 50 patents connected with the most advanced technologies of gas production on the basis of cryogenics and application of the ecologically efficient methods of electrical power production.

Nowadays he is a technical director of the “Net Power LLC” company that is a branch of “8 River Capital”. He used to be a director in technological research sphere and board member of “Air Products & Chemicals Inc”.

In 2017 Rodney John Allam was awarded a title of Honorary Doctor of MPEI.

During the colloquium he made a report on Allam cycle. From the MPEI part Andrey Rogalev and Vladimir Kindra made another report on the Allam cycle research.

The event resulted in a number of questions given to the speakers.

Rector of MPEI Nikolay Rogalev and the colloquium guests gave praise to the collaboration between our University, Rodney John Allam and the Global Energy Association.
