Conference of the International partner network of universities "NESEFF" in National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" within the International Academic Forum

On the 20th of June, 2016 at National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" there took place a ceremonial opening of the International Academic Forum AMO-SPITSE-NESEFF dated directly for three anniversaries: the 70th Anniversary of foreign citizens training in National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute", the 55th Anniversary of the MPEI Smolensk branch and the 25th Anniversary of Association of International Offices of Higher Education Institutions. The Forum included the XXI Conference of Association of International Offices of Higher Education Institutions, Conference of the International Partner Network of Universities "NESEFF" and III International Scientific Symposium on sensors and sensor networks "Sense. Enable. SPITSE – 2016".

Professor Nikolay Rogalev, National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" Rector, opened the Forum with welcoming address. There was also welcoming speech by Head of the Science Department of the German Embassy, Mr. Michael Dobis, President of Siemens Russia and Central Asia, Vice-President of “Siemens AG” Dr. Dietrich Moeller, Director of Thuringian Centre of Innovation in Mobility, Professor TU Ilmenau, SPITSE Chairman Matthias A. Hein, NESEFF Conference Chairman, professor of The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, Mr. Sylvio Simon. 

MPEI staff and guests made scientific reports during the plenary meeting. For NESEFF conferees there were organized fact-finding excursions in laboratories of Industrial Heat Engineering Systems Department and Heat-and-Mass Exchange Processes and Installations Department, and also in National Research University "Scientific Center of Increase of Wear Resistance of the Power Engineering Equipment of Power Plants" and in the MPEI scientific Pilot-Production Plant. 

At MPEI Smolensk branch at the opening of the International Academic Forum AMO-SPITSE-NESEFF the welcoming address was made by National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" Rector, professor Nikolay Rogalev, Vice Governor of Smolensk region Olga Okuneva, Federal inspector in the Smolensk region of the Plenipotentiary representative of RF President in the Central Federal district Alexey Brylev, MPEI branch director, Professor Alexander Fedulov.

At the NESEFF Conference there were made the reports of the participants from the following partner Universities: 

• Azerbaijan Technical University, Baku, Azerbaijan;
• The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, Germany;
• National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute";
• Technical University of Liberec, Czech Republic;
• Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Wroclaw, Poland,
  and also other Universities: 
• Ilmenau University of Technology, Germany;
• Research and Development Institute of structural physics of the Russian Academy of Architecture and construction sciences, Moscow;
• Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China;
• Islamic Azad University, Hamadan Province, Iran.

The subject of reports covered a wide range of tasks concerning power supply and increase of the energy efficiency in housing and communal services and industrial sector: harnessing of renewable resources, reorganization of power supply systems of ancient buildings and structures in case of their renovation, new approaches to regulation of buildings thermal consumption, new technologies in power supply of buildings, the impact assessment of urban development on buildings thermal consumption, use of heat pipes and thermosiphons, application of energy method to determine the efficiency of process, installations and systems in power engineering. The reports have caused active discussions of participants and a wish of further joint cooperation.

For the Forum participants there were organized the excursions to the MPEI branch Museum, and also to scientific and educational laboratories. 

The cultural program included a visit to the museum complex Borodino, laying of flowers at the memorial dedicated to the heroism of MPEI students during the Great Patriotic War in the village Prudky and a sightseeing tour across Smolensk.

All the activities of the Forum were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere in a professional manner. The participants expressed gratitude to Nikolay Rogalev, the organizing committee of the International Academic Forum, including the organizers from MPEI branch in Smolensk and particularly Maxim Goncharov for the great work.
