MPEI participated in the 4th ASRTU Summit events

MPEI took part in the series of events in the framework of the 4th ASRTU Summit that took place in Ekaterinburg from 09.07.2018 until 13.07.2018 at Ural Federal University.

ASRTU is an Association of the Technical Universities of Russia and China that is a non-commercial organization uniting leading technical universities of the two above mentioned countries. It has been created on the 6 of March 2011. MPEI has become an equal partner of ASRTU in May 2015, as are 60 Russian and Chinese Universities.

The 4th ASRTU Summit was hosted by Russia for the first time, considering that the previous Summits all took part in China. The event was included in the Russian Chinese Expo program that was held in parallel with the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM-2018. This fact created some extra attention and attracted more than 300 delegates of various universities. The Summit was opened by Head of the International Russian Department of Science and Education Igor Ganshin. Russian-Chinese Rector Forum and Coordinator Reunion of ASRTU took place in frames of the Summit as well.

During the Summit members of the Association have signed a number of agreements, established the cooperation with one of the largest and most prominent Corporation in the sphere of communication Huawei concerning a possibility of the students’ stages in the company and also an increase of the Students Exchange towards 100 000 people per year in 2020,

National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” was represented by the coordinator of MPEI-ASRTU Irina Kulik.
