Delegation headed by the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam visits MPEI on the 7th of September, 2018

On the 7th of September MPEI receives the delegation of universities and enterprises of Vietnam headed by the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam, MPEI Honorary Doctor, Professor Phung Xuan Nha. The visitors are supposed to discuss the cooperation programs and sign the cooperation memorandum. 

Professor Phung Xuan Nha is one of the leaders of the International Economic sphere specialized on the foreign investments, bilateral and polylateral Economic relations of Vietnam and Pacific Rim. He is MPEI Honorary Doctor since 2014.

Professor Phung Xuan Nha has made a great contribution to the development of the international cooperation in the field of scientific research and specialist training, taking into account that he pays special attention to the collaboration with Russian universities, in particular to MPEI. The result of the joint activity of Russian and Vietnamese institutes has been a project to create the Russian-Vietnamese Power Engineering Centre of strategic partnership, supported by the Russian Embassy in Vietnam, as well as the joint educational program with Vietnam National University, Hanoi in the field of “Informatics and Computer Science”.

Phung Xuan Nha

Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam.

Dr. Phung Xuan Nha received his education in Vietnam, UK and the US. He is a leading expert in international economics and his research fields include foreign investment, human resource development, bilateral and multilateral economic relations. He has published a number of books and articles on these fields.

Dr. Phung Xuan Nha started his career as a lecturer and researcher at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU, Hanoi) in 1985. He has extensive academic and management experiences in different positions as Research Centre Director, Deputy Dean of Economics Faculty of VNU, Rector of Economics and Business University of VNU, Vice President and President of VNU.

Dr. Phung Xuan Nha was elected Member of the Central Party Committee at the 12th National Party Congress in January 2016 and on 9 April 2016, he was appointed Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam by the President of Vietnam.

Dr. Phung Xuan Nha has received a number of awards and honours from national and international organizations and universities for his outstanding performances and services.​​​
