MPEI delegation at North China Electric Power University

On the 26th of October the Symposium of Power Engineering Branch of University of Shanghai Organization of Collaboration took place in China. The organizers were North China Electric Power University and National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute". The Symposium was held in Beijing on the basis of North China Electric Power University and conducted for the third time.

The meeting members were:
Rector of North China Electric Power University Yang Yongping,
Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China Lu Xin,
Secretary General of the China Education Association for International Exchange Zhao Lingshan,
Rector of Mongolian University of Science and Technology Baatar Ochirbat,
Deputy Secretary General of China Scholarship Council Zhang Ning,
Deputy Head of Chinese Council for Electricity Wang Jixuan,
Chairman of the Supervising council of the Union of Universities of IT of Beijing Wang Yajie.

In the framework of Symposium a number of reports of the universities-members of the "Power Engineering" field of the University of SOC from China, Russia, Kazakhstan and Tadjikistan were made. Head of the International Administration of MPEI Sergey Shirinskii reported on the contemporary state of Power Engineering field of the USOC. Professor Mikhail Tyagunov reported on the continental divided power engineering systems and training in the essential competences at the new Institute of Hydro Power Engineering and Renewable Sources at MPEI.

MPEI Vice-rector on International Relations Alexander Tarasov held a meeting with Vice-president of North China Electric Power University Wang Zengping, handed gifts to staff and felicitated the University on its 60th anniversary on behalf of MPEI.

At the same day MPEI delegation was invited to the meeting of Association of MPEI Chinese Alumni. Students who had been enrolled in 1952, 1956 and 1987, were present there. The meeting was warm, respectful and nostalgic, crowned with the award of the memorable picture to the Head of Alumni department by the Vice-rector Alexander Tarasov.

On the 27th of October MPEI delegation took part in the Conference of Rectors "Revolution of power resources and Responsibility of universities". It took place at the main building of the North China Electric Power University. Vice-rector on International relations Alexander Tarasov was the Chairman of one of the sessions. Among the reporters of the Conference were representatives of Germany, Egypt, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, USA, Sudan and Tadjikistan.

In the framework of the Conference of Rectors a solemn ceremony for the creation of Partnership of Power Engineering Institutes of "one Belt – one Way" Program was organized. National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" has joined the Partnership by signing a Memorandum of agreement with North China Electric Power University. The above-mentioned Partnership will allow its countries to develop mutual educational programs, scientific and consulting projects that are oriented towards the joint usage of power resources by different membership partners.

On the 28th of October, 2018, events of the 60-th anniversary of North China Electric Power University were being held, with MPEI attended to the Ceremony of Congratulations for University-partner.
