Postgraduates and staff members of MPEI at annual DAAD workshop

Last year 5 postgraduates and young scientists of MPEI were offered an opportunity to conduct research in Germany in the 2018/19 academic year with support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Winners of DAAD contests “Mikhail Lomonosov” and “Immanuel Kant” of 2018/19 of MPEI in the General Consulate of Russia in Bonn

On the 29th and 30th of October, 2018 in Bonn, Germany, the workshop for the scholarship winners of the DAAD programs “Mikhail Lomonosov” and “Immanuel Kant” was held by German Academic Exchange Service with the help of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The workshop was attended by more than 100 postgraduates and young scientists of a number of the Russian universities. Two-days program of this scientific seminar gave the scholars an opportunity to get acquainted with the funds and scientific organizations of Germany, story of the Russian-German collaboration, and to share the obtained results of research carried out at different German institutes within guidance of German scientists. Furthermore, in the framework of the seminar a meeting with the General Consul of Russia in Bonn Vladimir Sedykh occured.

Both the curator of the DAAD programs “Mikhail Lomonosov” and “Immanuel Kant” from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Alexey Ridiger, and Head of the department ST22 Eastern Europe, central Asia and Southern Caucasus, DAAD, Dr. Martin Krispin, took part in the work of seminar sections.

Postgraduates and young scientists of MPEI have also had a chance to report on their scientific achievements and research in the framework of the seminar.

Scholarships are awarded to postgraduates and young scientists. “Immanuel Kant” is given to the specialists in the domains of Social, Law, and Economy, and “Mikhail Lomonosov” – to the specialists in Natural and Technical Sciences.
