MPEI participates in "Time to study in Russia" Olympiad holding in Zambia

From the 19th until the 28th of February several events were being held in the framework of "Time to study in Russia" Olympiad for applicants from Zambia. The events were being conducted by RUDN, MISIS and MPEI representatives, supervised by the Embassy of the Russian Federation and Rossotrudnichestvo Department in Zambia. The Olympiad permits to choose the best ones among the applicants willing to study at Russian Universities, particularly at MPEI, for the scholarships granted by the Russian Government. Almost 200 students were solving Mathematics in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia at the Russian center of science and culture, and more than 30 students at Copperbelt University.

The following persons attended "Time to study in Russia" Olympiad at RCSC: Head of the Embassy Nikolay Chupashkin, Head of Department of Ph.D.-students and Trainees Natalia Savchenkova and teacher of the Russian language Yulia Kuznetsova. Talks over the development of cooperation in the domain of education and science with the Administration and the Rector of Copperbelt University, Professor Naison Ngoma were held.

The discussion with the administration of private Zambian Universities, vice-rector of the Mosi-O-Tunya University Of Science and Technology Dr. Sam Sichilalu, and Rector of the Sunningdale University, professor Nkonga P. Mwamba was conducted successfully.

Finally, the meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Zambia led participants to the discussion of the issues of extending the area of the Olympiad conduct, quota distribution and development of the ties between the countries.
