Power Engineering Olympiad in Kazakhstan

​From the 10th until the 21st of March, 2019, Alexander Ankin and Olesya Aparina, the employees of MPEI International Administration were conducting the Power Engineering Olympiad for higher school graduates upon the invitation of the Center of International Programs of Ministry of Education and Science, or Bolashak, in Kazakhstan.

The Olympiad was carried out in 9 cities of Southern and Northern Kazakhstan and had more than 700 Kazakh school graduates participating in it.

Such a high number of students involved was achieved not only by the advertisement organized by Bolashak, but also with a help of the regional akimats’ and cities’ administration by holding the career events at schools before the Olympiad.

Around 200 students from Kazakhstan are currently studying at MPEI. Generally speaking, MPEI admits students that are studying their Masters at one of the several Kazakh universities. As well, MPEI actively participates in the USOC work along with a number of the Kazakhstan education centers, being the coordinator of "Power engineering" branch and an associate of the USOC "Economics" branch.

Power Engineering Olympiad in Kazakhstan allows to pick talented school graduates for studying at MPEI and greatly contributes to the development of the collaboration with the educational institutes of Kazakh Republic.
