Session of Coordination Board of CIS Network University

On the 10th of June 2019 Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations of MPEI, participated in the 10th anniversary of the Coordination Board of CIS Network University.

Among the assessors there were representatives of the CIS Executive committee, Interstate Foundation of Humanities Collaboration, Administration of Russian President, Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Russia and Rossotrudnichestvo.

At the meeting of the Coordination Board the general results and problems of the Network University were discussed, and the sum up of the 2018/2019 year was made. Special attention was paid to the organization of admission for foreigners in the framework of joint education programs of Network University of CIS in 2019/2020. The search for system solutions in the improvement of admission quality was carried out as well.

After recent granting consortium membership to new universities, there have been 38 universities from 9 countries in CIS NU collaboration project.

MPEI started his collaboration with the NU in 2018 when the first students from Kyrgyz State Technical University were admitted to the joint MPEI-KSTU program "Thermal Power Plants". Now they are finishing their first year of the Master course at MPEI and plan to go back to KSTU to complete their studies. Another MPEI-NU joint project is supposes admission for Kazakh National University named Al-Fahrabi to MPEI for their 2nd year of Master course in the field of "Project Managing in Power Engineering".​
