The representatives of the Embassy of Spain visited National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute"

​On the 26th of June, 2019, an attache on education of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain Jose Aurelio Llaneza Villanueva and an education expert Mr. Javier Torres visited MPEI.

Cooperation between MPEI and leading universities of Spain began to develop intensively in 2015 as part of the academic mobility program EU Erasmus + , and in two key areas at once: KA1 - credit mobility in partnership with universities: Charles III University of Madrid, Autonomous University of Madrid, Autonomous University of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona; and KA2 - a joint research and educational project FSAMP in partnership with Polytechnic University of Valencia as well.

That was a fact-finding visit of representatives of the diplomatic mission concerning the current demand of Spanish universities to enhance the cooperation in the field of engineering. Diplomatic officials were met by representatives of International Administration: Head of International Administration Sergey V. Shirinskii, Head of Department of International Relations Elena G. Gulicheva, International Academic Program coordinator Irina A. Kulik.

During the meeting with the dignitaries, a presentation about our university was shown, and the prospects for extension of cooperation between MPEI and Spanish universities were discussed. Then a tour around departments and laboratories of the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering, was arranged by Head of Dept. of High Voltage Engineering and Electrical Physics, prof. S. Khrenov, Associate Professor of Dept. of Power Electrical Systems R. Nasyrov and a postgraduate student from Dept. of Electrical Stations A. Murzintsev.

Following the visit of the Attache on Education of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain Jose Aurelio Llaneza Villanueva expressed his intention to provide support in extension of cooperation between National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" and universities of Spain.
