The II Russian-Vietnamese Summer School takes place at MPEI

The II Russian-Vietnamese Summer School is held at MPEI from the 24th of June to the 12th of July, 2019.

In 2016, a cooperation agreement between MPEI and Hoang Van Thu high school in Hoa Binh city (Vietnam) was signed, detailed information is available through the link

Under the agreement, a group of secondary school students studying the Russian language in Vietnam visited MPEI for the second time to find out more about the University and to have a practice in the Russian language. This year, 25 students and 4 professors arrived at MPEI.

Head of Department of International Relations Elena G. Gulicheva held the welcoming meeting for students from Hoang Van Thu high school in Hoa Binh city.

In the first days of the Summer School, there was prepared the introductory program for the participants. Institute of Electrical Power was the first visited by the students. There the associate professor of Dept. of Power Electrical Systems Mr. Nasyrov R. demonstrated the work of a simulator to train personnel for energy facilities based on virtual reality.

At the School of Young Power Engineer, students from Vietnam could carry on experiments on making single-handedly an incandescent light bulb under the guidance of school professors.


The student assistants from the Department of International Relations of National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute”, students from Institute of Humanities and Applied Sciences help the children to adapt in Moscow. They introduce students from Vietnam to campus life at MPEI.

From the 26th of June, students began daily classes in the Russian language at MPEI. Classes are conducted by professors from the MPEI Russian language Department.

Furthermore, on the 26th of June, students visited Lyceum No. 1502 affiliated with Moscow Power Engineering Institute. This Lyceum is one of the best in Moscow. Lyceum Director V. Chudov warmly entertained professors and students from Hoang Van Thu high school in Hoa Binh city and he demonstrated several laboratories of the Lyceum. The children participated in master classes in robotics, ceramics, 3D-modeling and experiments in the science classroom. There was organized a concert for children with the participation of students and professors of the Lyceum. At the end of the meeting, the lyceum guests were presented with prizes and memorable gifts.



There is a cultural program as well. Every day students get acquainted with Moscow and they have already visited the most popular and visited places of our capital.
