Meeting at MPEI on Interstate Program EAEU

2 September, 2021, the working meeting on development of Eurasian Interstate Program "Raising efficiency and reliability of industrial objects work and power resources distribution in countries-members if Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)," was held at MPEI, with the participation of our University representatives, Eurasian Economics Commission and Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

At the meeting, MPEI was represented by its Rector Nikolay Rogalev, Vice-rector Sergey Belousov, and Director of the Education and Study Center of MPEI Dmitry Kovalev.

The EUEC was headed by Artak Kamalyan, its Minister of Industry and Agro-industrial Complex. As well, other members of EUEC took part in the meeting, such as Dmitry Matvienko, advisor of the Minister, Zhaslan Azenov, Deputy Head of the Industrial Policy Department, Dmitry Shumilin, supervisor of the Industrial policy department, and Andrey Efremov, advisor of the Industrial Policy Department.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation was represented by Denis Klyapovsky, Deputy Head of the Machinery Design Department for Thermal Power Complexes.


Before the start of the conference, the MPEI Rector made the participants acquainted with the science-educational infrastructure of the IHRE, the IEPE and the Center of National Technological Initiative "Technologies of the Electric Power and Spreaded Intellectual Power Systems". During the meeting, Tatyana Shestopalova, Vladimir Tulsky, and Alexander Voloshin, Heads of the respective Departments, as well as the staff members, were demonstrating the special equipment and speaking on the R&D conducted. 


In the framework of the discussion, the preparation for carrying out the Interstate Program was talked over. The program was created upon the initiative of MPEI, which was set as the responsible coordinator of the program’s development and realization.

The value of the Interstate Program and its importance for the member countries, the interest of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the MPEI experience that is essential for conducting the Program and the work done for its realization were all pointed out by the conference participants.

The meeting parties agreed to continue the program realization and worked out the dates that will be key for the final stages of its development.

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is a permanent regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Union, functioning since 2 February, 2012.

The main purpose of the Eurasian Economic Commission is to ensure the conditions for the functioning and development of the EAEU, development of proposals for the further development and integration.

The Eurasian Technological Platform "Energy and Electrification" is an association created at the MPEI  initiative to ensure effective interaction of interested organizations of the EAEU member states in the field of providing consumers with energy resources, as well as increasing the efficiency of their use while reducing the energy facilities negative impact on the environment, as well as the development and commercialization of energy efficient technologies for production, transformation, transmission, distribution and consumption of traditional and renewable energy resources in the EAEU countries.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is a federal executive body of Russia that is responsible for the development of state policy and legal regulation in the industrial and military field, as well as in the aviation technology development, technical regulation and ensuring unity measurements, as well as the functions of the authorized federal executive body that is in charge for state regulation of foreign trade activities.
