MPEI Rector took part in session of Organization Committee of World Energy Congress

25 November, 2021, MPEI Rector Nikolay Rogalev took part in the work of the Organization Committee for preparation and conduct of the 25th World Energy Congress. The event is carried out in St. Petersburg from 24 to 27 October 2022. The session of the Organization Committee was headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Alexander Novak.

The meeting’s agenda included organizational issues and discussion of the process of preparing the Congress, i.e. business program formation, invitation campaign, infrastructure preparation, exposition organization and events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of World Energy Congress.

The Organizing Committee plans to organize the Youth Day in the framework of the Congress program.

“There is still a year before the Congress. Russia, one of the world's leading energy powers, is honored to host this event. Preparations for the congress are proceeding as planned. The inclusion of Youth Day in the WEC-2022 agenda is a vivid indicator of the orientation of the modern world energy sector towards its future. The development plan, plans for the future are impossible without the involvement of young scientists, young engineers, specialists in charge of tomorrow. This is a very good initiative for our youth, as well as a good opportunity for Russian power engineering and polytechnic Universities to present their achievements."

In the framework of Congress an exhibition is carried out for branch companies and subjects of Russia. On its ground, it is planned to award the Global Energy Prize for the impact on power engineering development to mark the 100th anniversary of WEC.
