Eurasian Economic Commission visits MPEI

12 April, 2023 representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) payed a visit to MPEI.

The delegation included the heads of the Macroeconomic Policy Cooperation Department: Kanybek Azhekbarov, Deputy Director of the Department, Tatyana Tsaregradskaya Consultant of Cooperation Department in Conducting a Coordinated Macroeconomic Policy, Galina Islamova, Deputy Head of Methodology and Analysis Department. The honorary guests were welcomed by Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector.

The delegation had an introductory tour of the main MPEI building during which guests were able to see the latest laboratories, classrooms of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy (IHRE), the Institute of Electric Power Engineering (IEPE​), the center of the National Technological Initiative "Technologies for Electricity Transportation and Distributed Smart Grid" and research laboratory "Problems of electrical systems".

In MPEI co-working room a meeting was held. It was attended by Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations, Elena Gulicheva, Director on International Relations, Anastasia Mashkova, Director for Development of Integration Policy, and Turatbek Duyshenaliev, professor of department of Robotics, Mechatronics, Dynamics and Machine Strength of MPEI.

During the meeting Alexander Tarasov put forward proposals to implement the Program of Cooperation between the EEC and MPEI signed earlier on February 27, 2023. It was agreed to introduce a proposal to the Coordinating Council of the Eurasian Network University (ENU) on the establishment of the Center for Digital Energy and Engineering of the ENU on MPEI basis.

Both sides expressed their hope for the joint fruitful work on the implementation of the Cooperation Program between EEC and MPEI.

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is a permanent regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Union. The main purpose of the Eurasian Economic Commission is to ensure the conditions for the functioning and development of the EAEU, working out proposals for the further integration development. Currently, five countries are represented in the EEC: the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.
