The central event of the visit was a presentation of the monograph “Eurasian Energy Policy”, authored by Arzybek Kozhoshev.

In his presentation, Arzybek Kozhoshev outlined the key trends and strategic priorities shaping the energy sectors of the EAEU member states. The monograph focuses in particular on Eurasian energy integration and the development of common EAEU energy markets, energy security, energy conservation and efficiency, energy innovation and technologies, as well as current trends in renewable and “green” energy.

The monograph has received high praise from leading experts and won the 2025 Economic Book of the Year Award in the “Integration Processes: Development Prospects” category.

Bringing together representatives of the EEC, the Scientific and Technical Council of the Unified Energy System and MPEI provided an opportunity to combine institutional, industry, as well as academic expertise around a shared energy agenda. The participants highlighted the potential for further expert cooperation on current issues in the power sector and Eurasian energy integration.

For MPEI, this cooperation is particularly important given the university’s specialization and expertise in electric power engineering, energy technologies, and workforce training for the sector. By engaging the university community in discussions on the development of common energy markets and energy security, MPEI can bring together fundamental and applied expertise while addressing the need to train a new generation of energy professionals for the EAEU countries.

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is the permanent supranational regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The Commission works to ensure the functioning and development of the Union and contributes to the development of proposals in the field of economic integration among the EAEU member states. The EEC Board includes a block responsible for energy and infrastructure, which oversees cooperation in these areas.

The EEC-MPEI cooperation focuses on developing expert, research, and educational ties in the energy sector. With the participation of Arzybek Kozhoshev, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure, the EEC-MPEI Cooperation Program was approved and the Eurasian Technology Platform “Energy and Electrification” was established. The platform brings together expertise in the energy sector and provides a framework for cooperation among specialists, research organizations and industry representatives.
