MPEI discusses cooperation prospects with representatives of Myanmar

On September 16, 2026, MPEI hosted a delegation from Myanmar Creative International College (MCIC).

The delegation included Saw Htay Myint, Honorary Founding Chancellor of Myanmar Creative International College and President of the University of Creative Arts, Myanmar, Kyaw Nyi Nyi, a staff member at Myanmar Creative International College and major Zayar Aung, a representative of the Ministry of Defence of Myanmar and an MPEI graduate from the Applied Mathematics and Informatics Department.

MPEI was represented by Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Sergey Shirinsky, Head of the External Relations Department and Elena Gulicheva, Director for International Cooperation.

As part of the visit, the delegation met with representatives of the Information Technologies and Computer Science Institute, including the Department of Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, as well as the Robotics, Mechatronics, Dynamics and Machine Strength Department. The participants discussed promising areas for cooperation in artificial intelligence, robotics and information technology.

Particular attention was given to MPEI’s educational opportunities. The guests learned about the duration and specific features of the university’s master’s and Ph.D. programs, as well as the available fields of study.

The delegation also visited the MPEI-Hainan space and the GOELRO Museum before touring the Hydropower and Renewable Energy Institute, where the guests learned about its research activities. The program also included a visit to MPEI’s Military Training Center.

The visit provided an opportunity to explore MPEI’s educational and research potential and discuss prospects for further cooperation with partners from Myanmar.
