Intensive deepening of cooperation between MPEI and Universities of Poland

Since 27.11.16 to 04.12.16 MPEI International Academic Program Coordinator Irina Kulik has visited Universities of Poland:

Wroclaw University of Technology (Politechnika Wrocchawska) 

Wroclaw University of Technology (Politechnika Wrocchawska) is an old partner of MPEI where in current 2016 two new programs: Erasmus + (short-term mobility of students and staff) and Two diplomas program were started. 

During the visit meetings with all staff of International Department involved in the above-mentioned programs were organized. So mechanisms of program implementation between two Universities were corrected and arrangements on the program implementation in 2017 were prolonged.

In spite of the fact that the European Commission made the decision concerning the retrenchment of the mobility for Poland financed by the EU within the Erasmus + program in 2017, Wroclaw University of Technology intends to continue its active participation in this program in partnership with MPEI. 

There was organized a meeting with MPEI students and Ph.D.-students who are trained now at Wroclaw University of Technology upon the Erasmus + program. There are 7 students and Ph.D.- students from Institute of Electrical Power Engineering, Institute of Automatics and Computer Engineering, Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics, Institute of Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering and Smolensk branch.

There were discussed the current issues and there were found their solutions. In general, all MPEI students are glad with implementation of the program and they consider the participation in the Erasmus + program to be very useful opportunity to improve their competencies. 

A meeting with the coordinator of the two diplomas program Eva Mrochek took place there. The difficulties were discussed and considered during the implementation of the program, and the algorithm for their solution was developed.

There took place a meeting with the deputy dean on international cooperation of Electric Engineering Department prof. Robert Liss. There was shown the interest of PPS Department in development of joint educational programs with financial support from the EU in the following areas:

  • renewable power generation
  • energy efficiency

There were reached primary agreements concerning the submission of the joint request to get the EU financing to schedule such programs as a part of the EU countries consortium.

Poznań University of Technology (Politechnika Poznańska)

Poznań University of Technology (PUT) is one of leading universities of Poland. Now it includes 10 Departments where there are trained 21 000 students of bachelor degree course and Master's degree program and 600 Ph.D.-students. The academic staff - 1350 employees. The university cooperates with a great number of foreign partners; it has close relations with industrial partners and a number of scientific and technical world-class achievements. The campus is located in the picturesque place and it is equipped with several various modern constructions. 

During the visit to Poznań University of Technology there took place a meeting with Vice Rector on international cooperation of University prof. Teofil Yesionovsky, staff of international department, representatives of Department of Automatic Control System systems and Informatics. There was signed the agreement on cooperation between universities.

There was organized the presentation for representatives of Department. There were discussed further actions on implementation of the academic exchange for professors, research staff members and students on implementation of joint research projects.
