Award of testimonial of the President of the Russian Federation to Professor Riedle Klaus, Honorary Doctor of National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute"
On the 6th of December, 2018, in the Russian Embassy in Germany Professor Klaus Riedle, a member of the international committee of the Association on the Development of International Research and Power Engineering Projects, was awarded the honorary mention of the President of the Russian Federation.
Currently prof. Riedle is an honorary professor at the University of Greenfield and the University of Erlangen–Nuremberg, an honorary doctor of MPEI, the author of multitude articles, monographs and patents in the field of power engineering. Over the years, he has promoted the enhancing of cooperation between the Siemens company and MPEI, the implementation of joint research and the strengthening of the international reputation of our university.
In 2005, prof. Riedle was awarded the Global Energy Prize for the development and creation of high-temperature and high-capacity gas turbines for combined cycle gas turbine units. Prof. Riedle used the full amount of the prize to create the Foundation at Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU), Erlangen – Nuremberg, Germany. Over the years of the Foundation’s existence, more than forty German and Russian students and Ph.D.-students have gained experience in intercultural communication and joint research. This educational program has made an invaluable contribution to the development of partnerships in the field of science and education in Russia and Germany.
Citation of honorary mention of the President of the Russian Federation to Professor Riedle is a logical conclusion of his longstanding activity in leading of the created Foundation. MPEI congratulates Professor Klaus Riedle on receiving such a high appraisal of his achievements from the President of the Russian Federation Mr. Putin.
