The cooperation of MPEI with universities and organizations of Uzbekistan in a remote format02.06.2020
On
May 25, 27 and 28, 2020, the events dedicated to higher education of the
Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan were held.
On May 25, 2020, the Department of State Policy in the
Field of Higher Education of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher
Education held an online workshop on the legal foundations of opening and
functioning of branches of Russian Institutions of Higher Education in the Republic
of Uzbekistan.

On May 27, 2020, the Interregional Conference of Higher Educational
Institutions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held
in an online format. Within the framework of the conference, Valeriy Falkov,
Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Inomzhon
Mazhidov, Minister of Higher and
Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abduzhabar
Abduvahitov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Vladimir Chernov,
Head of the Department for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign
Countries of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, as
well as the Rectors of leading universities of Russia and Uzbekistan made
reports. From MPEI, Rector Nikolay Rogalev, Vice-rector on International
Relations Alexander Tarasov, Maksim Kravchenko, Director of the branch of MPEI
in Tashkent, took part in the conference.
Reports
were made indicating the stable interest to cooperate, contributing to
development and quality of Uzbek branches of Russian Universities, to realize
joint educational programs envisaging Double-Degree programs, academic
exchange, student practice and carrying out mutual scientific research.
 The conference included several
sections: "Actual issues of opening and functioning of branches of Russian
universities in the Republic of Uzbekistan", "Interaction of
universities of Russia and Uzbekistan in the field of scientific
research", "Innovative mechanisms of cooperation between universities
of Russia and Uzbekistan in modern conditions".
During the Interregional online conference of the rectors of universities of
Russia and Uzbekistan, the subtotals of the practical implementation of
bilateral agreements in the scientific and educational spheres were summarized
and new promising areas for the work of universities of the two countries in
the near future were identified.
