MPEI takes part in Vice-rectors' discussion on international activities of Russian universities17.11.2022
16 November, 2022, Peoples' Friendship University of
Russia (RUDN) held a meeting for Vice-rectors on the international relations of
Russian universities, named “Internationalization of Russian higher education,
achievements and challenges”.
The speakers list included representatives of
universities, the Ministry of Science and the Higher Education of the Russian
Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the
Council of Federations of the Russian Federation. Delegates
discussed international cooperation, promotion of
institutions to the international
platform, digitalization in the educational sphere and
the development of academic
mobility in the pandemic period, and shared their
experience with colleagues as well.
MPEI was represented by Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector
on International Relations who reported on the topic “Graduate potential
realization on the basis of rational use of existing mechanisms of state
support, ideas and proposals”. He shared MPEI experience in specialist training
for foreign countries and offered some ways of its optimization that were
kindly considered.
During the event, the following questions were
discussed:
- the procedure of the selection of foreign citizens
for training within the education quota established by the government of the
Russian Federation;
- the system of selection and admission of foreign
citizens to study in Russian educational organizations: problems and solutions;
- providing scholarship support to talented foreign
citizens;
- the features of the admission campaign in the
context of geopolitical acuteness and post-covid situation;
- issues of entry of foreign citizens to study at
Russian universities;
- optimization of the work of universities in the
context of acute political and socio-economic situation;
- litigation concerning reception and observation of
foreign citizens for universities of the Russian Federation.
