Reference:
November 17, 1957 was an important day for
Chinese students in the USSR. On that day, Chinese President Mao Zedong in the
hall of the Moscow State University met with representatives of Chinese
students in the Soviet Union, he told them: "The world belongs to
you!". Chairman Mao Zedong said: “The world is yours and ours, but fundamentally
belongs to you. You, young people, full of vigour and
vitality, are in the bloom of life, like the sun
at eight or
nine in the morning. Our hope is placed on you...The world belongs to
you".
MPEI began to teach students from China in
1948. Since then, MPEI has trained more than 300 specialists for the PRC,
including many well-known Chinese scientists who have contributed to the
development of Chinese science and economy.
