Angola delegation visited MPEI

6 December, 2022, the delegation from the Republic of Angola visited MPEI. The Head of the delegation was Augusto da Silva Cunha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Angola to Russia accompanied by Jorge Chiuca Moises Kashava, First Secretary, Head of the Consular Section, Joaquim Paul da Conceição, Cultural and Press Attaché, and Manuel Domingos de Oliveira Cadet, Head of the Student Section.

The delegation was welcomed by Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector, Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations, Sultan Makoev, Director on International Education and Sofi Akopyan, Deputy Director on International Education.

The guests were guided to the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy Sources and the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering to meet people from the Institutes who shared the experience on simulation training, modern equipment at laboratories and some directions of the work.

In the framework of the meeting there was a presentation about MPEI, discussion on collaboration issues and the admission of 10 Bachelors from Angola in the fields of 13.03.02  Power and Electrical Engineering и 15.03.06 Mechatronics and Robotics.

“The Embassy of Angola is ready to cooperate with MPEI in certain fields and to continue the further cooperation development”, - Augusto da Silva Cunha noted.

The delegation met with students from Angola that are studying at MPEI. At the meeting the issues of training and staying of the Angolan students were discussed. The learners shared their success in training at MPEI.

By the results of the event, the hope for the collaboration of both sides in training highly-qualified personnel for the energy sector of Angola was expressed by both sides, who have become partners.
