December, 2022 Zhou Liqun, Chairman of NPO "Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs
in Russia", Vice-President of the Chinese Alumni Association of the former
Soviet Union and the CIS, General Director of the Moscow Greenwood World Trade
Center, MPEI graduate visited our university with a working visit.

Mikhail
Kiselev, Head of the Department
of Electromechanics, Electrical and Electronic Apparatuses, warmly welcomed the Chinese MPEI graduate and gave a tour around modern
laboratories and classrooms of the department. Mr. Zhou Liqun was studying from
1989-1993 at the Department of Electromechanics and wrote his dissertation
under the guidance of Prof. A. Ivanov-Smolensky, Professor, Honored Scientist
of the Russian Federation, Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Electrotechnical
Sciences and MPEI Veteran of Labor. Mr. Zhou Liqun warmly recalled his student
years, visited the familiar fully re-equipped laboratories and classrooms.
Mr.
Zhou Liqun was given a tour of the Institute of Hydropower
and Renewable Energy (IHRE) and the Institute of Electrical
Power Engineering (IEPE), during which the guest was
familiarized with the latest equipment in the laboratories and with the areas
of each institute.
As
part of the visit, a meeting was held with Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector, to
discuss issues of cooperation.

The
meeting was attended by Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International
Relations, Elena Gulicheva, Director on International Relations, and MPEI
staff.
"MPEI
ranks among the top 10 universities in Russia in terms of the demand for
graduates by employers. Speaking of statistics, 99% of MPEI graduates are
employed upon graduation," Nikolay Rogalev noted.
Zhou
Liqun, in turn, expressed his kind words about his student years spent at MPEI,
the professors who helped him become a professional in his field, and life in
Russia: "Russia is my second homeland, I am very grateful to MPEI and want
to contribute to the development of the university.

Both parties
discussed the MPEI-Hainan project, within which MPEI is planning to establish a
campus on 55 hectares in Wenchang, Hainan Province, and other promising
activities between MPEI and universities and organizations of China.
At the end of the
meeting, the participants expressed their hope for further cooperation, which
will make a significant contribution to the strengthening of cooperation
between Russia and China in the educational and scientific sphere. |
