Poznan University of Technology (Poland) becomes a new partner of MPEI on Erasmus+17.05.2019Between the 5th and the 11th of May,2019, the representatives of MPEI, coordinator of international academic projects of the MPEI International Department, Irina Kulik, and the Head of the Department of Computing Machines, Systems and Networks, Sergey Vishnyakov, were visiting PUT pursuing the goal of the launch of the academic exchange programs Erasmus+ and the discussion of the further prospects of collaboration between our Universities. Poznan University of Technology (PUT) is one of the leading technical universities in Poland and this year marks its 100th anniversary. At present, it consists of 10 faculties (27 areas), and has more than 20,000 undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students enrolled. The teaching staff has 1,200 employees, including 3 winners of the Polish Nobel Prize. The university has many foreign partners, closely cooperates with industrial enterprises, has a number of world-class scientific and technical achievements. The campus is located in a picturesque place, has a modern infrastructure and is equipped with many different functional structures. The collaboration between our Universities started to evolve quite recently, in 2016 the agreement of collaboration has been signed, then the bilateral application to EU for the Erasmus+ (KA1) partnership had been sent, that had marked the milestone of the first Russian University-partner of PUT. The application was comprised by EU, and the visit of Kulik and Vishnyakov has been a beginning of the program realization.' During the visit, the meeting with the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, professor Teofil Jesionowski, a number of international staff, deans and heads of the departments of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications and the Faculty of Computing was held.The presentations have been made concerning MPEI and International mobility programs for students and teachers. Further prospects of the development of collaboration have been discussed as well. The head of MPEI Department, Mr. Vishnyakov conducted several workshops for the Polish University staff, and read lectures to the students about ''Prospects of the digital work with the multidimensional signals on the irregular network''. The most fruitful were the meetings and the discussions with the Dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications professor Krzysztof Wesolowski. During them a row of similar fields of study and of scientific research between professor Wesolowski's Faculty and IACE have been set up and mutual interest in development of collaboration has been confirmed. As well, realization of the student exchange between the faculties was charted in frames of Erasmus+ in 2019/2020.
