MPEI participates in youth forum "Russia-Africa: Nuclear education for sustainable development"24.11.202123 November 2021, on the facilities of Russian University of Peoples Friendship the second Youth Forum “Russia-Africa: Nuclear education for sustainable development” was held. It was dedicated to search for new cooperation forms in the field of Africa’ sustainable development through promotion of Nuclear Development that allows to realize the youth potential in high-technology fields of science. The Forum’s goal is to shape the motivation of young students to study nuclear sciences, to create the research interest for the nuclear technology sphere and to promote the nuclear education for producing a new group of specialists that can possibly become the moving power for technological and social development of African countries in cooperation with Russian partners. MPEI is one of the basic universities of Rosatom Corporation. Our university actively takes part in the traditional forum conducted under the aegis of Rosatom and RUDN within the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, and all the largest nuclear-related organizations of Africa. Forum opening More than 300 bachelors, masters, postgraduates, representatives of science and business in the nuclear field from Russia and Africa took part in the plenary session and work of 5 sections: nuclear education power engineering agrotechnics ecology nuclear medicine of today and tomorrow MPEI has the lead in the work of the “Ecology” section directed by Nathalia Savchenkova, Head of the International Doctorate Studies Department. In this section a key report of Nathalia Zvonkova, a postgraduate and an assistant of the Engineering Ecology and Labour Safety, on a topic “Reducing the carbon footprint in the implementation of economic activities in the field of waste management” caused sincere interest among the listeners.Nathalia Zvonkova’s report In the section “Nuclear Education” a report of the postgraduate of Nuclear Power Stations Ragy M.
