MPEI delegation at the meeting of the Council on industrial policy of the CIS Member States and the conference "25 years of the CIS: results and prospects"

On the 28th-29th of September, 2016 National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" delegation including the First Vice-Rector — Vice-Rector on academic activity Mrs. Stepanova T., Head of the Institute of Remote and Additional Education Mr. Belousov S. and Head of department of innovation activity Mr. Rogalev A. participated in the meeting of the Council on industrial policy of CIS Member States and in the International research and practice conference "25 years of the Commonwealth of Independent States: results and prospects" in Minsk (the Republic of Belarus).

33 representatives from seven states (among them were the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation) became he participants of the meeting of the Council on industrial policy of the CIS Member States. Mrs. Stepanova T. made a report "About the approval of National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" acting plan as base institution of the CIS for 2017 - 2018".

Over 200 representatives of the Commonwealth countries took part in the conference. Among them were:

- staff of public authorities, the diplomatic missions accredited in Belarus,

- ambassadors and permanent representatives of the CIS countries,

- representatives of CIS agencies and the base institutions of the CIS countries,

- members of the commission on economic problems at CIS Economic Council,

- heads of the largest scientific and educational institutions,

- the leading scientists and experts,

- cultural figures

During the plenary part Mrs. Stepanova T. made a report on the subject "A role of the scientific and educational organizations in strengthening the cooperation of the CIS member states: the gathered experience and the prospects of development".

The delegation from National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" also took part in the work of the section "Interaction of the State Parties of the CIS in Education, Culture, Tourism, Sport and Youth Policy".

MPEI made proposals on creation of Consortium of the CIS base institutions in the field of education during the performances at the meeting of Council on industrial policy. It also expressed its readiness to perform necessary arrangements in frames of the Conference.

In accordance with the Decision of Council of CIS Heads of Government dated on the 30th of October, 2015 National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" is approved as the base institution of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States on preparation, professional retraining and advanced training of personnel in the sphere of power engineering.
