Alumni from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar were awarded MPEI diplomas 25.07.2023On July 24, 2023 a solemn ceremony of awarding master’s degree and PhD degree diplomas to graduates from Republic of the Union of Myanmar was held. MPEI diplomas were received by 12 masters – graduates of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy (IHRE) and the Institute of Information Technologies and Computer Science (IITCS) and 3 graduate students – graduates of the departments of Electrotechnical Complexes of Autonomous Objects and Electric Transport (ECAOET), Applied Mathematics and Computer science (AMCS), Formation and Processing of Radio Signals (FPRS). Mo Kyaw, Military, Brigadier General, Naval and Air Attache at the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, together with his wife Mrs. Khin Pa Pa Win, participated in the ceremony. Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on international relations of MPEI and Mo Kyaw, Service Attache opened the ceremonial event. Tatyana Shestopalova, IHRE Director, Sergey Vishniakov, IITCS Director and representatives of the graduating departments: Ansar Safin (FPRS), Ilya Mikhailov (AMCS) and Vladimir Glushenkov (ECAOET) made a welcoming speech. Mo Kyaw, Brigadier General, highlighted the important role played by the energy sector in the development of Russia and Myanmar and expressed gratitude to the entire MPEI staff for the successful work on training highly qualified personnel necessary to strengthen the engineering infrastructure of Myanmar in the future. Representatives of graduate institutes and departments noted the high academic performance and diligence of students and Postgraduates in their studies. All participants wished the graduates success in their future professional activities and expressed hope for the continuation of their cooperation with the university. The ceremony ended with the traditional dedication to graduates – the reversal of the tassel of the academic cap. The cooperation of MPEI with universities and organizations of Myanmar began in 1965. In 2001, an agreement was signed between the MPEI and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for the targeted training of specialists from the Republic. Every year, our university accepts applicants from Myanmar for Master's degree and Phd degree studies in the most popular technical areas of training. Alexander Tarasov noted that the prospects for the development of cooperation between Russia and Myanmar are expanding every year, and also expressed confidence that the partnership between the MPEI and the organizations of Myanmar will only strengthen.
