MPEI students took part in the Obninsk NEW International Youth Nuclear Forum

From September 21 to 23 MPEI students participated in the first Obninsk NEW International Youth Nuclear Forum.

About 600 participants – international experts, students, Ph.D.-students, young scientists and teachers from more than 70 countries, attended the Forum. More than 50 different events as scientific seminars, sessions, workshops as well as sports and cultural activities took place over 4 days.

The Intersociety team and the MPEI Directorate on International Education represented our university at the Forum. They listened to leading experts in the field of nuclear energy, participated in discussions, went on excursions, gave interviews, communicated with representatives Rosatom and actively approved themselves at all events during several days.

Recognized experts from the academic community, heads of major international corporations and governmental organizations were speakers at the Forum events. This year's key topic is "Sound Education for Sustainable Development of the World" and the first global event of the Forum is the similarly-named plenary session.

The discussions focused on the concept of new nuclear education within the framework of the creation of the Obninsk Tech International Scientific and Educational Center for Nuclear and Related Technologies by 2030. The scientific agenda of the Centre will be formed with the participation of ROSATOM's partner countries.
