MPEI creates Center of Digital Energy and Engineering at the Eurasian Network University

 On October 18th, 2023, the 5th meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Eurasian Network University (ENU) was held with the participation of Sergey Glazyev, Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission and Vladimir Sipyagin, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Science and Higher Education. The meeting was held in the State University of Management (SUM).  

At the meeting, Vladimir Stroev, Chairman of the ENU Coordinating Council, Rector of the State University of Management (SUM) said about the results of the first year of the Eurasian Network University. By the majority votes, the powers of current Chairman of the Coordinating Council were extended until December 31st, 2023, and Irlan Iskakov, Rector of the University at the EuroAsian Economic Community (EAEC) Interparliamentary Assembly was elected as the new Chairman  of the Coordinating Council of the ENU.

Sergey Shirinskii, MPEI Head of International Administration, reported on the completion of the preparatory stage of the creation of the Center for Digital Energy and Engineering. Initially, Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector, advanced that initiative on the II Eurasian Economic Forum in May this year.

The strategic aim of the Center is to develop the educational and scientific potential of the ENU universities, to implement joint research in the field of digital energy and engineeering for the realization of scientifically based macroeconomic policy in the EAEC countries.

The ENU Coordinating Council decided to approve the Regulations on the Center for Digital Energy and Engineering and to create a structural unit – the ENU Center for Digital Energy and Engineering on MPEI basis.
