New ways of cooperation between MPEI and Mongolia

On November 2, 2023, the delegation of the Erdenet Mining Corporation and the Erdenet Science and Technology Park Innovation Eco system (Mongolia) visited MPEI.

The guests were given the demonstration tour of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy (IHRE); the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering (IEPE); the Department of Electric Power Systems (EPS); the Department of Automated Control Systems for Thermal Processes (ITNPE); the GOELRO museum. The staff of the departments demonstrated modern equipment of classrooms, laboratories, computer classes.  

During the visit, the film about MPEI was demonstrated. Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations, noted the long-standing cooperation with Mongolia in the field of training professional personnel for energy.

New ways of cooperation have been intended in the internship of specialists of Erdenet Mining Corporation and the Erdenet Science and Technology Park Innovation Eco system on methods and MPEI educational programs in the subjects: Automated Process Control System and Relay Protection and Automation of Energy Systems; preparation of Mongolian teachers to realize professional training and retraining of personnel according to the methodological MPEI materials; translation of some MPEI textbooks from Russia into Mongolian.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the creation of a plan for the implementation of new options for cooperation.  The parties expressed confidence in close cooperation in the future.
