MPEI at the annual meeting of the National Coordinating Committee of the BRICS Network University

On November 27th, 2023 an Annual meeting of the National Coordinating Committee of the BRICS Network University (BRICS NU) was held in the People’s Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba (PFUR). Being a permanent member of the BRICS NU, MPEI coordinates the “Energy” field.

Natalia Syulkova, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia opened the meeting. Further, Olga Molovtseva, Head of the Department of Multilateral Cooperation and International Organizations of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Anastasia Hohlova, Head of the Department of Education and Science of Rossotrudnichestvo made welcoming speeches.

During the meeting, Natalia Vladimirovna told about the results of the BRICS NU in 2023 and presented a work plan until 2025.  Also, there were introduced concepts on academic mobility of students and professors in the BRICS NU, an agreement on joint master’s degree training, as well as a draft certificate of a participant in the BRICS NU upon the completion of training and updated catalog of English-language programs. The participants of the discussion made their comments and discussed the prospects for the development of the BRICS NU for the coming year.

Then representatives of Russian universities, coordinators of the directions, presented the results of the activities of the international thematic groups in 2023 and made proposals for necessary changes. Svetlana Kalikina, an employee of the Directorate on International Education, presented MPEI at the meeting of the National Coordinating Committee. Svetlana told about the results of the work of the thematic group “Energy” in 2023 and the main directions for the cooperation development in this field.

On November 29th, the final meeting of this year’s BRICS NU International thematic group in the field of “Energy” was held, which is traditionally organized by MPEI. Sergey Shirinskii, Head of the International Administration, the coordinator of the thematic group on work.
