MPEI participated in the session of the Coordinating Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Network University

On November 20th, 2023, the session of the Coordinating Council of the CIS Network University was held in a mixed format on the basis of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. The results of the enrollment campaign of the students to the joint programs of the CIS Network University and also the scheme of the selection of foreign citizens to study in the CIS Network University in the 2024/2025 academic year discussed in the session. Vladimir Fillipov, Chairman of the Coordinating Council, Rector of the People’s Friendship University of Russia, noted the need to update the modern concept of the common educational space of the CIS, which started in 2023. Its implementation should facilitate the process of coordinating joint educational programs and provide the expansion of the number of participants of the CIS Network University. Larisa Efremova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, noted the increasing relevance of training engineering personnel and called for strengthening existing and creating new joint master’s degree programs in technical and natural science areas of training.

Nowadays, the application period for Russian scholarships for foreign citizens is ending and it is very important to timely inform partners about the past selection of candidates for joint programs in order to ensure support for their candidates. MPEI implements joint programs on Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering, Thermal Power Engineering and Thermal Engineering with partner universities of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the CIS Network University.
