The 3rd International Scientific Symposium on sensor devices and sensor networks "Sense. Enable. SPITSE." 2016

30.08.2016

Since the 20th of June to the 25th of June at National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" within the International Academic Forum AMO-SPITSE-NESEFF there took place the 3rd International scientific symposium SPITSE 2016. The forum included the 21st Conference of Association of International Offices of Higher Education Institutions, the 3rd International Scientific Symposium SPITSE 2016 and the Conference of the international partner network of NESEFF Universities.

The SPITSE project is devoted to a tripartite strategic partnership among Ilmenau University of Technology (Germany), National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" and Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University (ETU).

The cooperation purpose is to organize joint scientific researches and implementation of multidisciplinary projects in the field of theoretical electrical equipment, microelectronics and power engineering, and also to perform the academic exchanges of staff and students of Universities. The event is held with assistance of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The symposium took place at ”National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" in two areas – in Moscow and at the National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" Smolensk branch.

At the opening of the Forum in Moscow and in Smolensk participants were welcomed by National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute"  Rector, professor Nikolay Rogalev, Head of the Science Department of the German Embassy, Mr. Michael Dobis, President of Siemens Russia and Central Asia, Vice-President of “Siemens AG” Dr. Dietrich Moeller, Director of Thuringian Centre of Innovation in Mobility, Professor TU Ilmenau, SPITSE Chairman Matthias A. Hein, NESEFF Conference Chairman, professor of The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, Mr. Sylvio Simon, Vice Governor of Smolensk region Olga Okuneva, Federal inspector in the Smolensk region of the Plenipotentiary representative of RF President in the Central Federal district Alexey Brylev, MPEI branch director, Professor Alexander Fedulov

Plenary papers were made by MPEI staff and guests: Mr. Dietrich Moeller, professor Matthias A. Hein, Head of Scientific-Technological Innovation Center of Energy Saving Technologies E. Gasho, Head of Dept. of Computer Engineering professor V. Toporkov, director of Research Centre "Wear-Resistance" A. Ryzhenkov, Head of Energy Management Department A. Krolin, Head of Dept. of Automated Electrical Drive A. Anuchin, acting Head of Dept. of Relay Protection and Automation of Energy Systems A. Voloshin.

In the framework of the conference there were presented more than 20 oral and poster reports that covered a wide range of topics:

  • Up-to-date technologies for RF, microwave, and optical sensors and devices;
  • Antennas for RF and microwave sensing;
  • Energy efficient frontends, wireless power transfer;
  • Smart sensors, sensor signal acquisition, HW/SW co-design;
  •   Biomedical diagnostics;
  • Wireless devices and strategies for intelligent traffic systems (ITS);
  • Nonlinear dynamic system modeling, analog and digital signal processing, dirty RF;
  • Wireless sensor networks, network security;
  • Data fusion and data mining;
  • Embedded software engineering.

Presented papers have caused active discussion among participants and wishes of further cooperation.

In Moscow and Smolensk there were organized the visits to MPEI scientific and educational laboratories for SPITSE symposium participants.

The cultural program included a visit to the museum complex Borodino, also symposium participants laid flowers at the memorial dedicated to the heroism of MPEI students in the Great Patriotic War in the village Prudky and there was organized a sightseeing tour in Smolensk.

All the activities of the Forum were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere in a professional manner. The participants expressed gratitude to Nikolay Rogalev, the organizing committee of the International Academic Forum, including the organizers from MPEI branch in Smolensk – Alexander Fedulov, Maxim Goncharov and Maxim Dli.
