Signing of the memorandum of understanding between MPEI and Sharif University of Technology (Iran)

International Administration informs that on the 25th of April, 2017 the delegation of Sharif University of Technology headed by Vice Rector on academic affairs Mr. Rashtchian Davud visited National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute".

The purpose of this visit became getting acquainted with MPEI and discussion of cooperation issues.

In frames of the visit the tour in laboratory of Dept. of High Voltage Engineering and Electrical Physics was arranged and the presentation about the international cooperation of MPEI was prepared. Finally, the memorandum of understanding has been signed.


Sharif University of Technology was founded in 1966 and this is one of the most prestigious technical Universities of Iran located in Tehran. At the university there are trained about 11 000 students on technical (9 departments) and humanitarian (3 departments) specialties (sharif.ir/home).

At MPEI there was trained a large number of highly qualified personnel for a number of world countries. The first students from Iran graduated from MPEI in 1962. Now 7 Ph.D.-students from Iran and 6 students from pre-university course are trained at MPEI.
