MPEI brings its congratulations to the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam04.12.2017On the 20th of September 2017 upon the invitation of Nguyen Thanh Son, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam in Russia, the Delegation of MPEI visited the solemn ceremony on the occasion of the 72th anniversary of Independance of the Vietnam Socialistic Republic. Among the invited persons were Mr. Alexander Ankin and Mr. Alexander Tarasov, the Dean of the foreign students and the Head of the Department of International relations. MPEI is one of the leading Russian Universities that prepares high-quality specialists for the vitally important branches of industry of the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam. The MPEI Alumni flourish in Vietnam. MPEI is proud to have received the President Ho Shi Min delegation in 1954.For ages of cooperation MPEI has prepared more than 500 Bachelors, Masters and Specialists, 120 Ph.D and 9 Doctors of Science. More than 150 trainees have done their internship at MPEI. The MPEI efforts were highly appreciated by Vietnam: the University was awarded the Order of Friendship in 1978 and the Order of Labour 1st degree. Four MPEI Employees were awarded the Order of Friendship in 2015. Now 85 students, Ph. D. and learners from Vietnam make their formation at MPEI. One has to admit that in recent years the number of MPEI students has drastically increased, especially now there are 15 PhD’s among them. The Minister of Education and Specialist Preparation of the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam Phung Xung Nha is an Honorary Doctor of MPEI. In 2018 the international education project “It’s time to study in Russia!” celebrates its 5th anniversary. In frames of this fact in Vietnam the Russian Centre of Science and Culture holds a number of various programs, and as a part of it MPEI develops collaboration with Ministry of Education and Specialist Preparation, leading universities, scientific organizations and power engineering companies. The International Institute Vietnam State University project has MPEI in its roots. The MPEI collaboration project with Vietnam Hanoi State University started in 2014, and in 2017-2018 the first learners were admitted to the Preparatory Course of the mutual educational program “Informatics and Computer Engineering” in English medium. This program implies joint education scheme “2+2” or “3+1”. Collaborative project of the Russian-Vietnamese Power Engineering Centre has been functioning since 2015, having established basic Departments of Power Engineering and High Technologies in the Vietnam Hanoi University. MPEI is looking forward to further collaboraton with universities and organizations of Vietnam.
