MPEI at the meeting of alumni of Russian and Soviet universities in Vietnam

On October 4, 2023, the Russian Center for Science and Culture (Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office) in Hanoi hold the Russian/Soviet online alumni meeting "Contribution of Graduates to the Development of the Region" organized with the support of Rosatom and RUDN.

There we discussed the main mechanisms for improving interaction with foreign graduate students, young alumni and alumni alliances/associations to enhance cooperation between Russia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV).

Alexander Tarasov, MPEI Vice-Rector on International Relations, took part in the event to share the university's experience in training highly qualified personnel for the SRV and promising areas of cooperation. He noted that Russian education has a high prestige in Vietnam, and the personnel training at MPEI is carried out at different levels: from pre-university to postgraduate training and retraining. Started in 1953, the extensive experience of training MPEI specialists for the SRV bears evidence to the productive, friendly, multifaceted cooperation continuing to develop actively. Since this year MPEI has been participating in the development strategy of the Joint Russian-Vietnamese Tropical Center until 2030 – a document that lays down the goals and objectives of the Tropical Center development for the nearest period in the interests of both countries. Also, it is planned to create the Russian-Vietnamese Energy Center for Strategic Partnership for personnel training and research as well as to implement the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Technical Universities project for the development of digital energy and industry.
