MPEI Ph.D.-students in Germany: programs "Mikhail Lomonosov" and "Immanuel Kant"

In the period from the 1st of October, 2016 to the 31st of March, 2017 Ph.D.-student of the Dept. of Power Electrical Systems Silayev M. and Ph.D.-student of the Dept. of Economics in Power Engineering and Industry Gulicheva E. have performed their research works at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany.

Research work in Germany became possible by the aid of grants which are awarded to the most talented Ph.D-students and young scientists according to joint programs "Immanuel Kant" and "Mikhail Lomonosov" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service): research grants and scientific training (Immanuel-Kant-Forschungsstipendien und - aufenthalte).

Research performed by E.Gulicheva became a part of the project "Development of innovative methods for competitiveness increase of Russian universities: "German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies (GRIAT)".

M. Silayev carried out his research into the topic "Research of voltage unsymmetrical influence caused by operation of the heavy electrified traction load of alternating current on large electric motor operating condition".

Otto-von-Guericke University was founded in 1993. The university campus is a complex of modern buildings equipped in accordance with the advanced standards and requirements to quality of education. Students of Otto-von-Guericke University study in the computerized lecture halls and laboratories. About 14000 students are registered at the university. Training is performed in the English and German languages.

Intermediary results of the research made by MPEI Ph.D.-students will be presented at scientific workshops for scholars of the Russian-German programs "Mikhail Lomonosov" and "Immanuel Kant". The first workshop took place in Bonn on the 24th – 26th of October, 2016. The second workshop is planned to be organized in Moscow on the 28th – 29th of April, 2017.
