Summary
The Department of Advertising, public relations and linguistics graduates
and trains qualified bachelors and masters in the field of linguistics,
translation, advertising and public relations. The department employs both
highly qualified full-time teachers and leading involved specialists in
specialized disciplines. At the

Linguistics (45.03.02)
The specialty provides in-depth theoretical and practical training in
several foreign languages. The training program includes the study of 2 - 3
foreign languages, as well as topical issues of intercultural communication,
the language of the media, the literature of the countries of the language
being studied, business protocol, etiquette, the art of business negotiations,
theoretical and practical aspects of bilateral translation and interpreting,
etc.
Advertising and public relations (42.03.01)
The activity of a PR specialist is aimed at establishing and maintaining
mutually beneficial relationships between organizations, partners, clients and
the media. An advertising specialist conducts research, analyzes the market,
and thinks over the concept of an advertising product. A PR specialist establishes contacts with
authorities and financial institutions. His responsibilities also include
interaction with the media - responding to inquiries, compiling and
distributing press releases, organizing press conferences and much more.
Management (38.04.02)
Students who successfully complete undergraduate educational programs
have the right to pass entrance examinations and continue their education in
the magistracy. As part of the direction "Management" at the
Humanities and Applied Institute, training is carried out on the profile of the
master's program "Managing the activities of PR organizations and
structures" (full-time and part-time forms of education; qualification -
master).

The Department of APRL conducts active
research activities in the field of advertising and PR within the
framework of the work of the scientific group "PR in the field of
education" (Head: Candidate of Political Science, Associate Professor
of APRL Yudin I.V.), which studies the organization of PR activities
-companies operating in the field of education.
The Center for Applied Sociological
Research, working at the department, conducts applied sociological and
marketing research on various issues and problems of higher education,
advises and supports research conducted by institutes and other structural
divisions of NRU MPEI.
Recent projects
Recent projects implemented by the department:
- The Center "Russian as a Foreign Language" has a
huge accumulated experience of working with foreign students in terms of
developing language and cultural skills of intercultural communication and
speech communication.
- The "Center for Applied Sociological Research",
which has extensive experience in conducting sociological research, conducts
extensive educational, organizational and scientific and methodological work
not only within the framework of the activities of the department and the
institute (SPI), but also within the scope of scientific and applied interests
of the University as a whole. The center is equipped with high-tech equipment
and everything necessary to support the educational and research process: audio
and video equipment, modern computers, professional sociological programs for
digitization and data analysis (SPSS).
