in leading national and international institutional, as well as subject
rankings.
Institutional Rankings
In 2025, MPEI entered the Premier League
of two major Russian rankings:
National Aggregated Ranking (708 institutions; 57
universities in the Premier League),
University Performance Monitoring Ranking (707
institutions; 28 universities in the Premier League).
In the RAEX Top-100 Ranking, MPEI retained
24th place overall, ranking 21st in “Graduate
Employability” and 22nd in “Research Activity” (212 participants).
In the Interfax National University
Ranking, the university ranked 25th overall and entered the top 20 nationwide
in “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” (19th place) and
“Collaboration” (19th place).
Subject Rankings
As a specialized technical university,
subject rankings are particularly important as they reflect academic and
research excellence in key fields.
In 2025, MPEI maintained its presence in
six subject areas of the “Three University Missions” ranking:
Power Engineering, Power Machinery and Electrical
Engineering — 3rd place
Nuclear Physics and Technology — 6th place

ranks 6th among Russian universities in terms of graduate salaries in the IT
sector.
International Rankings
MPEI is represented in major international
institutional rankings, including QS World University Rankings and THE World
University Rankings, as well as in QS and THE subject rankings in engineering
and technology.
The 2025 results reaffirm MPEI’s strong
position among Russia’s leading technical universities and its high level of
competitiveness in core academic fields. Consistent performance in major
institutional and subject rankings, along with strong graduate employability
and salary outcomes, reflects the quality of education, research and their
alignment with the needs of the economy and technological development.
