In 2015, the student of MPEI IPEEP Alina Kolyada won a scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation to study abroad.
She was studying the liquid hydrodynamics in the field of research on batteries of liquid metal at TU Ilmenau, Department of Machinery.

The scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation to study abroad is a great sign of fortune. I actually couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw my name in the list of winners.
Studying in Germany is a perfect chance to get new ideas, apply them, improve your language and meet intelligent and goal-seeking people from all over the world.
Here my education started with the 2-month summer course of German language, then I commenced courses of ”Fluid and Gas Mechanics”, “Computational Fluid Dynamics” and “Natural Convection”. Besides, I had time for my sports and social activities, which heled me a lot with my German language. Starting from September I was playing for a basketball team of Erfurt, capital of Thuringia. Actually the student life is buzzing in Ilmenau, there is all that is needed for students to prove and amuse themselves. There are different social student clubs, divided by sports, cultural, musical interests. I, personally, was working in the students’ leisure club.
So, overall, the possibility to make research in the new ambience, to meet new people motivates me to go forwards and to never give up, to understand that you can compete for anything you ever wanted in your life.
The scholarship helped me a lot to make my dream come true.
