The cooperation of MPEI with Latvia began in 2006 when the first students were accepted for education. MPEI has trained a large number of highly qualified personnel for different countries, among them Latvia.
MPEI collaborates with Riga Technical University and Riga Zolitude Gymnasium.
MPEI employees take part in conferences with Latvian colleagues. In 2018-2019, the AED department staff took part in the International Scientific Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering, which was held at Riga Technical University. Later, in 2018, on the department of Automated Electric Drives the 25th annual workshop of the department was held. It was dedicated to the issues of optimal management and welcomed the leading specialists from Latvia and other countries.
In 2019/2020 academic year at MPEI, there are one student, one postgraduate and one professor from Latvia.
