The cooperation of MPEI with the Ukraine began in 2005 when the first students were admitted for education. MPEI has trained a large number of highly qualified personnel for different countries, among them the Ukraine is. 

MPEI cooperates with the following universities and schools: National Technical University of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnic Institute", National Technical University "Kharkov Polytechnic Institute", Zaporizhzhya National Technical University, National Pedagogical University named after Mikhailo Drahomanov, National University "Lviv Polytechnic" and National Mining University.
