Summary 

 

The Department of Energy Structures and Hydro-Technical Installations has been working as a part of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy since 2017. The Department provides training in programs of higher, additional professional education and professional development of specialists, provides consulting services.

            Recent projects

            The staff of the Department participated in the contest "50 best innovative ideas for the Republic of Tatarstan" in the category "Association of innovative regions of Russia" and made a proposal for a scientific work: "anti-Corrosion protection of storage tanks for petroleum products in order to increase the period of operation". This work of the Department was included in the top ten innovative projects and awarded a diploma of the investment and venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.

            Unique equipment

            The Department has a modern computer class equipped with high-performance graphics stations and multimedia equipment for conducting interactive classes on the study of computer-aided design, engineering graphics and building information modeling.

            Electronic tacheometer Sokkia iM-105

             

            The tool is used to determine the coordinates and elevations of points of a geographical area in the following cases:

            • ground topographic survey of the area for the development of topological maps;

            • geodetic and construction centering works: removal of the relative position (coordinates) and excesses of design decisions to the terrain;

            • determination of rectangular and polar positional values;

            • measurement of parameters of objects to which there is no physical access;

            • other topological works involved in the construction, archaeological excavations, and arrangement of the roadbed.

            UVF-6 installation

             

            The installation is designed to test concrete samples for waterproofness according to the "wet spot" method and the filtration coefficient in accordance with GOST 12730.5-84

            Universal steaming chamber KUP-1

             

            Designed for heat treatment of concrete when determining its compressive strength in accordance with GOST 22783, for steaming concrete samples when selecting heat treatment modes with temperature increase, holding (isothermal heating) according to GOST 10180, and also for testing cement samples in accordance with GOST 310.4. The chamber can be used to determine the thermal conductivity of coarse aggregate grains in accordance with GOST 9758, for thawing concrete samples in accordance with GOST 25485. The chamber is designed to work in closed rooms at an air temperature of at least +5ºС and relative humidity up to 80%, at a temperature of 25ºС and lower temperatures without condensation and moisture in a non-explosive environment that does not contain salt mists, conductive dust, corrosive gases or vapors that destroy metal and insulation at atmospheric pressure 84-106.7 kPa.

            Small hydraulic press PGM-100MG4A

             

            Test presses PGM-MG4 are designed to test samples of building materials at loading speeds normalized by the relevant standard. The presses are equipped with an electric drive and strain gauge force meter. A distinctive feature of the PGM-MG4 presses is their small size and weight, low-noise operation of the electric drive and the absence of pulsations in the hydraulic system due to the use of multi-plunger pumps of foreign production. Microprocessor control of the loading process provides automatic maintenance of the loading speeds in MPa/, kN/s and mm/min (depending on the test method), fixing the breaking load and calculating the strength taking into account the scale factor.

            The results obtained during testing are automatically archived, marked with the date and time of measurement and transferred to a PC with the possibility of subsequent documentation.

            Small-sized presses PGM-100MG4 and PGM-100MG4А are designed for compression testing of cellular concrete and mortar samples, cement and gypsum beams for compression and bending, asphalt concrete samples for compression, splitting and bending. The PGM-100MG4A press has an increased piston stroke, additionally provides for testing asphalt concrete samples for shear, uniaxial compression and tensile bending at loading speeds of 3; 10; 50 and 50.8 mm / min, including PNST 109, 113 and 179.

            Concrete strength meter POS-50MG4

             

            POS-50MG4 devices are designed for non-destructive testing of concrete strength by tearing off with chipping and chipping ribs according to GOST 22690.

            The scope of the instruments is to determine the strength of concrete at construction sites, during the inspection of buildings and structures, as well as to clarify the calibration characteristics of shock-pulse and ultrasonic devices, in accordance with Appendix No. 9 GOST 22690.

            The ultrasonic device with visualization PULSAR-2.2

             

            The PULSAR-2.2 device is intended for:

            • measuring the time and speed of propagation of ultrasound in the surface and through sounding of objects of control;

            • control of strength, uniformity and class of concrete (GOST 17624, Methodical Recommendations MDS 62-2.01), brick (GOST 24332) and other materials based on measuring the time and speed of propagation of ultrasound in them;

            • detection of voids, cracks and other defects during technological control and inspection of objects, measuring the depth of surface cracks;

            • assessment of the degree of maturity of concrete in monolithic concreting;

            • determination of density and elastic modulus of materials, sound index of abrasives;

            • assessment of porosity, fracturing and anisotropy of materials;

            • estimates of attenuation of ultrasound in materials, products and structures.

            Kashkarov's hammer

             

            Kashkarov’s hammer is a measuring instrument designed to determine the compressive strength of concrete by plastic deformation according to GOST 22690-88.

            TSG-S01 Strain Station

             

            The strain gauge measuring amplifier is designed to measure electrical signals from strain gauges of various types, analog sensors with current and voltage outputs, strain gauges, converting signals to digital form and transmitting measurement data via digital interfaces to computer systems.

            Educational programs

            Bachelor

            08.03.01 Civil Engineering. Industrial, civil and energy construction

            Education of undergraduate students in the direction of training 08.03.01 Construction is carried out in full-time, part-time extramural studies. The term of full-time study is 4 years. Education in part-time extramural studies is paid. The standard period of study in part-time extramural studies is 5 years. It is possible to study according to an individual curriculum and reduce the period of study.

            Additional education (professional retraining):

            • Industrial and civil construction;
            • Hydraulic construction;
            • Chief Power Engineer Service: safe operation and management;
            • Estimate business and examination of estimates;
            • Evaluation of the enterprise (business).

            Professional retraining (more than 250 hours) is intended for specialists with higher and secondary vocational education in order to obtain a new qualification, which is necessary in connection with the introduction of professional standards. Upon successful completion of the training, students receive a MPEI diploma with the right to conduct a new type of professional activity.

            The term of study is 6-7 months. The form of education is full-time, part-time, part-time.

            Advanced training (from 250 to 72 hours) is aimed at improving the professional knowledge, skills and abilities of students. The main objective of such courses is to meet the needs of specialists in the field of energy, construction and other areas in obtaining new knowledge and scientific achievements. The training period is 2-4 weeks. The form of education is full-time, part-time with the use of distance learning technologies. The document on training is a certificate of advanced training.​​​
