Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Chad visited MPEI

On June 18, 2024, a delegation from the Republic of Chad headed by the Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Chad Mr. Tom Erdimi visited MPEI.

The members of the delegation and MPEI administration discussed the prospects of scientific and educational cooperation. Mr. Tom Erdimi, Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Chad, emphasized that the country is interested in training specialists in Russia, including the training of power engineers who, upon graduation and return home, will realize the goals of their country.

"Cooperation with foreign countries is of great importance for our university. Due to the interaction with foreign colleagues, we constantly update our educational programs, adopt professional experience and, of course, expand our capabilities. We are delighted that the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Chad is interested in training specialists in MPEI. This once again proves that our university has very high standards of education and trains first-class specialists not only for the domestic power engineering, but also for the power engineering industry all over the world," Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector said.

Members of the delegation were introduced to the university, in particular to the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy Sources (IHRE) and the Center of the National Technological Initiative "Technologies of Electric Power Transportation and Distributed Intelligent Energy Systems" (NTI).

Both sides expressed their hope for fruitful and long-term cooperation between MPEI and the Energy University of the Republic of Chad.  They also noted the importance of experience and knowledge exchange within professional development and retraining of teaching personnel. Other planned areas of cooperation were the training of students and internship of specialists at MPEI departments.
