The professional internship of managers of Cuban enterprises was completed at MPEI

On June 14, 2024 MPEI held the solemn awarding of certificates of successful completion of professional internship for the managers of energy enterprises of the corporation "Unión Electrica" (UNE) and professors of the Havana Technological University José Antonio Echeverría (CUJAE) of Cuba. The certificates were given by Anastasia Mashkova, Director on Integration Policy Development and Marina Myznikova, Associate Professor of the Department of Management in Energy and Industry, who has become a supervisor for a number of trainees within the internship.

The spring internship programs for Cuban specialists of the 2023-2024 academic year started in April. MPEI leading professors from the departments of Electric Power Systems, Management in Energy and Industry, Thermal Power Plants, Hydropower and Renewable Energy Sources gave lectures on such topics as pricing in the electricity market and increasing the efficiency of electricity consumption, control and regulation systems for turbines, power plants, distributed generation and hybrid RES generation systems.

Internship programs are implemented within annual quotas of the Government of the Russian Federation for the training of foreign citizens, in particular from the Republic of Cuba.

As part of the internship program, guests from Cuba visited strategic production facilities of the Russian power engineering industry of such companies as PJSC ROSSETI: TS Tyutchevo substation, the museum of PJSC Mosenergo, the central office of JSC SO UES, JSC OEK, the International Testing Center for Fuel and Lubricants "IIC GSM" and the laboratories of JSC Plakart. The companies are strategic MPEI partners.

At present, within educational cooperation between MPEI and the Republic of Cuba, 47 leading specialists and managers of the power engineering industry of the Republic of Cuba are trained at MPEI under master's degree programs, training of scientific and pedagogical personnel (Ph.D.-studies) and additional professional education in the field of electric and thermal power engineering, power engineering, informatics, management and renewable energy sources.
