MPEI took part in the II Congress of Eurasian Technological Platforms

On June 19, 2024, the 2nd Congress of Eurasian Technology Platforms (ETP) was held at the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Sergey Belousov, Vice-Rector, coordinator of the ETP "Power Engineering and Electrification", Dmitry Kovalev, Director of the MPEI Training and Research Center, curator of the Eurasian interstate program "Improvement of efficiency and reliability of industrial facilities and distributed energy industry in member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)" and Turatbek Duishenaliev, Professor of the RMDSM Department (IPMM), coordinator of interaction of MPEI with the EEC and EAEU states.

Participants of 18 active technical platforms and representatives of the EEC under the chairmanship of Gohar Barseghyan, Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC, discussed the issues of increasing the importance and popularization of the activities of technical platforms, support mechanisms, as well as the issues of financing the development and implementation of interstate programs and ETP projects.

Sergey Belousov made a presentation on the draft Eurasian interstate program "Improving the Efficiency and Reliability of Industrial and Distributed Energy Facilities in the EAEU Member States" and Difficulties with Access to Funding Sources Provided for in National Programs for Supporting Research and Development".

During the discussion part of the Congress Turatbek Duishenaliev addressed to the representatives of the EEC with a proposal to hold a regular international scientific-practical conference on MPEI basis, dedicated to the activities of Eurasian technology platforms, in order to strengthen cooperation between science and business in the Eurasian space.

As a result of the Congress, a resolution was adopted, envisaging a number of measures to improve the efficiency of Eurasian ETPs, strengthen their role and develop proposals for new mechanisms for the implementation of interstate programs and projects in terms of sources of financing at all stages.

In addition, MPEI representatives negotiated to establish interaction with representatives of ETP "Technologies of maintenance and repair of industrial equipment" for the purpose of personnel training and R&D.
