II Youth forum of universities of the SCO countries - 2017

In the period from the 23rd of May to the 26th of May, 2017 at National Research University "Belgorod State University" the II Youth forum of universities of the SCO countries 2017 was held. Master's Degree Students, Ph.D.-students, young scientists from leading universities of the SCO countries, heads of Public Administrations and departments became participants of the Forum, such as special deputy of the Russian President on SCO affairs Bakhtiyer Khakimov; vice-chairman of the State Duma Committee of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on economic policy, industry, innovative development and business Denis Kravchenko; and also representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, State Duma of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the all-Russian public organization "Association of Student Business Incubators, Young Businessmen and Scientists of Russia", etc. At the forum National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" was represented by Osipova Marina and Marishkina Yulia - staff of the Department of International Relations and Ph.D.-students of the Dept. of economics in power engineering and industry.

In frames of the plenary meetings and round tables the Forum participants discussed issues and the prospects of cooperation for students and young scientists of universities of SCO countries in the academic and research spheres; initiations and implementation of joint projects in the knowledge-intensive youth business; development of cultural interaction, strengthening of mutual confidence and good-neighborhood relations between people of SCO member states.

During the Forum the project "SCO Youth Card" was implemented. The main aim of the project is the assistance to the development of humanitarian cooperation in SCO area, encouragement of youth to studying of culture and traditions of SCO member states. The task of the organization is to create the tool allowing the project participant to go to SCO countries at least once a year at the discount, as the result of the registered points. It can be reached with the help of the special card when paying the purchases, cinema, cafe, etc.

SCO Youth council expects that within two years about one million people will become participants of the SCO Youth Card program in Russia. This autumn the pilot project in Krasnoyarsk and the Republic of Bashkortostan will be started. Besides, it is planned that this Card will become the certificate of the participant of the Universiade-2019.
