Development of collaboration between Morocco and MPEI

On the 30th of July, 2019, the delegation of MPEI visited the solemn event that had been organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Russia. It was dedicated to the Throne Day, national Morocco holiday.

The delegation consisted of:

• Tatyana Shestopalova, Head of the Hydropower department, Head of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy,
• Prof. Pavel Kurbatov, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Apparatuses, professor of the Institute of Electrical Engineering,
• Anna Klimova, Specialist of the Department of International Relations.
• Ahmed El Alami, Senior lecturer of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Apparatuses, citizen of Morocco

In course of the visit, the meeting with Mr. Lotfi Buchaara, Ambassador of Morocco, was organized. In frames of this meeting the issues of collaboration among Morocco Universities and MPEI were discussed.

On the 30th of July, Morocco celebrates a significant national holiday – Throne Day. On this day in 1999 the king of Morocco, Muhammed VI, was crowned. This year it is the 20th anniversary of his kingship. It is also a symbol of unity and independence of Morocco.

Collaboration between MPEI and Morocco commenced in 1966, when the first Moroccan applicants were enrolled to MPEI. Currently, the Moroccan Alumni Association that carries out the regular meetings is a part of MPEI. /p>​
